Football is literally right around the corner. Kickoff weekend is a little over a month away and media days started down in Dallas. So what are everyone's predictions for this year? Here are mine:
North
1. Nebraska 10-2 (6-2)- I hope they lose every game this year, but they probably won't. This is a pretty generous prediction as I think NU is overrated, but Bo Pelini may be the best coach in the Big 12.
2. Mizzou 9-3 (5-3)- Hurts to say it, but MU lacks a receiving threat to complement BG and D-Wash. MU is a definite darkhorse though. If the secondary has turned the corner, look out. Aldon Smith is going to be an All American and might even declare for the draft after this year.
3. Colorado 7-5 (4-4)- Dan Hawkins will do what he does best, field an average, bowl eligible team.
4. Kansas 6-6 (3-5)- Can't see them doing much.
5. Kansas State 5-7 (3-5)- Gonna take more than Bill Snyder to save the huge sinkhole of a football program that Ron Prince left behind.
6. Iowa State 4-8 (2-6)- Not much else to say here. Good luck?
South
1. Oklahoma
2. Texas
3. Texas A&M
4. Oklahoma State
5. Texas Tech
6. Baylor _________________ Baseball's a funny game. A good friend of mine once told me baseball's a simple game, you throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes...it rains. Now think about that for a minute. |

I disagree that Missouri lacks a receiving threat. What they won't have is a player like Danario Alexander accounting for most of the yards.
They have good returning players like Wes Kemp and Jerrell Jackson, but this may be one of their deepest teams in terms of WRs. I liken it to 2007 or maybe 2008 in terms of number of players catching the ball.
Wes Kemp, Jerrell Jackson, TJ Moe, Jimmie Hunt, Marcus Lucas, Rolandis Woodland, L'Damian Washington, Bud Sasser... These are all guys that could catch 10 passes or more. That is just the WRs. Michael Egnew, Alex Sanders, Andrew Jones are all TEs that could do the same (They are comparing Egnew to Rucker now...)
So, while Mizzou may not have an All-American stud, they will be very, very deep at WR and TE. Of course, I said that last year after Maclin left and DA went off and led the NCAA in receiving. _________________
